Homosexuality and security

This map is especially useful in seeing how secure a country can be, as there is nuance in the ‘acceptance’ of homosexuality: ranking from the death penalty to homosexual marriage legalisation. Thus we can see how differently acceptance can be expressed. This map is also an indicator of how freely someone will express their sexuality, and how oppressed they will feel.

However, this is only indicative of national laws, there is no percentage of acceptance of homosexuality. Furthermore, we don’t know how recent the change may be (e.g. France, the US): there is no timeline to show us when homosexual relationships/marriage started being accepted and legalized.
